His hands-on approach ensures accuracy, reliability, and professionalism in every aspect of his work.
Before relocating to Europe in 2021, John and his wife spent eight years in the Caribbean managing a yacht charter company and running a successful marine surveying business. His role involved overseeing all aspects of yacht maintenance, engineering compliance, winterization, and fleet readiness. He is also the co-founder of a superyacht services company and a yacht charter central agency and brokerage. With over 50,000 nautical miles logged—including multiple Biscay and Atlantic crossings—he has extensive offshore and coastal sailing experience. He has served as a professional skipper and instructor for more than 15 years, delivering RYA courses up to Yachtmaster preparation. His commitment to training and professional development earned him an invitation to become an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Examiner and a Cruising Instructor Trainer, roles that recognize both his technical ability and teaching expertise.
Academically, John holds a First-Class Honors BSc in Marine Studies (Ocean Yachting) from Plymouth University, where he received the Auto Dynamic Position Services Prize for Best Student in Navigation. His strong academic foundation, combined with extensive hands-on industry experience, positions him as a trusted expert in marine surveying and yacht operations.
